Brain Health

Your brain is the most powerful computer you will ever own, yet we use only about 5% of the available power.

It can do things you may have never contemplated. That is why it's so important to keep it healthy and mostly stress free.

Burnout

Researchers are now beginning to understand the true neural ramifications of being overworked. As reported in a survey, when 2,000 full-time US employees were asked to rate their stress on a scale of 1 to 5, more than 25 percent said 4.

Overall, more than 70 percent rated their stress at a level of 3 or higher. The most significant variables were complicated work, long or erratic work hours, a lack of control, and tough deadlines.

This is leading to increasing rates of burnout. Known as a lifestyle related condition, burnout has been shown to cause lasting changes in the brain’s physical structure. When exposed to chronic stress, key areas of the brain, including the amygdala, medial prefrontal cortex, and the anterior cingulate cortex appear to age prematurely.

Since neural regions associated with fear and anxiety overlap with areas impacted by Alzheimer’s, chronic stress due to one’s work environment may lead to an increased risk of dementia.

Brain Tests

Run these simple tests to see how well your brain works. If you pass, your brain works well above average. Encourage your friends and family to do the same and share reults.

Please note, this is NOT a diagnostic tool. Regardless of your performance on the tests below, it is recommended that you seek a professional opinion from your doctor if you're experiencing abnormal symptoms.

1. Find the C below...do not use any cursor help.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

2. If you already found the C, now find the 6 below.

This is NOT a joke. If you were able to pass these three tests, your brain is great and you're far from having a close relationship with Mr Alzheimer.
